Dubai Municipality announces the return "Hatta Agricultural Festival" In its third session with a rich agenda

Dubai, January 27 / WAM / Within the agenda of the “Dubai Farms” program launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Development and Citizens’ Affairs in Dubai, which aims to support the agricultural sector and citizen farmers in the emirate; The third edition of the Hatta Agricultural Festival, one of the most prominent community and agricultural tourism events organized by Dubai Municipality, began today, Tuesday, in the Lim Lake area, with the participation of an elite group of Emirati farmers, estate owners, and local agricultural companies.

The festival comes within the framework of the “Hatta Hatta” initiative launched by “Brand Dubai”, the creative arm of the Dubai Government Media Office, under the guidance and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, and under the supervision of the “Supreme Committee for the Supervision of the Hatta Region” and within the “#Destination_Dubai” campaign, with the aim of shedding light on the many features that characterize Hatta at all levels as a rich tourist, heritage and agricultural destination. The third session of the festival witnesses a qualitative development in terms of the level of participation and organization compared to previous sessions, with the expansion of the participation of specialized farms and farms, along with companies showcasing innovative and advanced agricultural products and solutions. The festival also witnesses, for the first time, integrated participation from government and private agencies to support and empower people of determination, through their active involvement in displaying products, workshops and accompanying activities, in a way that enhances the growth of the UAE agricultural market, in integration with the vision and plans of the Dubai government aimed at organizing support and development for farmers, and enabling the youth of Hatta farmers to develop their agricultural projects.

As part of Dubai Municipality’s programs supporting farmers, the municipality has strengthened support packages for the agricultural sector in Hatta with a value of 3.7 million dirhams, which include; Distributing 24,675 bags of organic and chemical fertilizers and 5,170 bags of agricultural seeds to Hatta farmers, in addition to providing an agricultural extension and pest control services company with the aim of supporting sustainable agricultural production under the supervision of Dubai Municipality, in addition to implementing 3 tourism and production projects, with the introduction of modern agricultural technology.

His Excellency Engineer Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said: The Hatta Agricultural Festival represents a strategic platform to support farmers, local producers and rural communities, by providing an integrated environment that provides access to organized markets, training, and advisory services in one location, which enhances the efficiency of Emirati farmers and improves the quality of their products and the sustainability of their farms and projects that support the food security system in the emirate. Through this third session, Dubai Municipality strengthens Hatta’s position as a model of sustainable rural development that combines agriculture, environmental protection and participation. community, and contributes to improving the well-being and quality of life of residents and visitors alike.

He added: This festival reflects Dubai Municipality’s commitment to developing sustainable local agriculture, which enhances the competitive ability of Emirati farmers and encourages them to adopt modern, environmentally friendly agricultural practices, which contributes to achieving sustainable community development in Hatta, diversifying the local economy, strengthening rural communities, and consolidating Hatta’s position as a leading destination for agricultural and environmental tourism.

In addition, the festival will be open and free to the public, as it will provide organized platforms for displaying and selling agricultural and local products and productive families, as well as a platform for the Dubai Central Laboratory and the veterinary platform. In addition to the Mazayna competition to evaluate the beauty and quality of livestock, training and guidance programs, advisory services for farmers, and competitions and prizes designated for farmers, farms, and visitors.

Dubai Municipality indicated that it has opened registration for Hatta residents to participate for free, while exempting them from permit fees associated with temporary food activities during the festival period, as the third session of the Hatta Agricultural Festival comes to enhance the paths of the local agricultural sector, open new marketing channels, improve the quality of products, and enhance competitiveness. The festival provides an integrated platform that enhances access to regulated markets, exchange of knowledge, and application of sustainable agricultural practices, by bringing together farmers, agricultural tourism activities, supporting bodies and consumers in one location.
