“Masdar” plays a pivotal role in consolidating the elements of sustainable development globally

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received yesterday, at Al Bahr Palace in Abu Dhabi, a delegation from Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the company and the success of organizing the activities of “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026”.

His Highness congratulated the delegation on this occasion and expressed his thanks for their efforts in making this year’s session of “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week” a success, which embodies the country’s vision of building bridges of cooperation and partnerships to achieve sustainable development for societies and countries.

His Highness also praised the pivotal role that “Masdar” plays in promoting international cooperation, consolidating the elements of sustainable development globally, and working for a sustainable future for all. His Highness pointed out that the company contributes an important role in strengthening the country’s efforts in the field of sustainability, embodying its approach towards supporting international efforts aimed at consolidating the concepts of sustainability and confronting common global challenges for the benefit of humanity.

For their part, the delegation expressed their thanks and appreciation to His Highness the President of the State for the attention he pays to national competencies in various fields, appreciating His Highness’s support for the initiatives and events hosted by the country, most notably “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week,” which contributed to continuing to achieve its goals of accelerating sustainable development efforts in the world.

The meeting was attended by a number of Their Highnesses Sheikhs, ministers, senior officials and guests.

Over two decades, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” has achieved rapid growth that has enabled it to become one of the largest global companies in the renewable energy sector through a portfolio of projects that have contributed to consolidating its position and role in developing the energy system and shaping the future of the sector, as its innovative projects are spread today in more than 45 countries around the world.

The company annually hosts “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week,” the global initiative launched by the UAE to address the most pressing challenges in the field of sustainability. The week includes the distribution ceremony of the Zayed Sustainability Prize, the global award launched by His Highness to honor those with sustainable solutions, in addition to a series of events and discussions centered around accelerating the pace of responsible sustainable development and advancing comprehensive economic, social and environmental progress. The 2026 session is the largest since the start of the week.
