15 killed in a plane crash in Colombia


The Colombian Civil Aviation Authority said that a plane carrying 15 people crashed near the border with Venezuela on Wednesday, killing the passengers and crew.

The plane, which was operated by the Colombian government airline Satena, took off from the city of Cúcuta and lost contact with control towers just before it was scheduled to land in nearby Ocaña.

A Civil Aviation Authority official said: "No survivors from the crash".
