Gulf relations are based on brotherhood and common destiny… and calm is a strategic choice to protect the stability of the region

Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, stressed that the relations linking the UAE with the countries of the region, especially the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, are based on solid foundations of brotherhood, mutual respect and a common destiny, stressing that this approach has formed, over the decades, an umbrella for stability and confidence-building between leaders and peoples.

During a dialogue session entitled “Strategic Partnership and Brothers Forever” within the activities of the UAE-Kuwait Week – Brothers Forever, Gargash discussed the depth of Gulf ties and the human and historical dimensions they carry that went beyond the traditional political framework and contributed to consolidating cooperation and joint work.

The Emirati experience
Gargash explained that the Emirati and Gulf experience in building the state was based on the values ​​of closeness to the people, field work, and institutionalism, pointing out that the personality and approach of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, formed a leadership model that combined strategic vision and practical follow-up, and established a balanced development path that puts people at the top of priorities.

Tangible successes
Regarding the Gulf issue, he pointed out that the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf achieved tangible successes politically, economically, and security, stressing that the Council formed a comprehensive platform that strengthened coordination and integration, especially in difficult stages. He pointed out that regional and international changes require the development of Gulf action mechanisms in a way that raises its efficiency and enhances the speed of response, while preserving the essence of joint action and respecting the sovereignty of countries and their different priorities.

Gulf engagement
Regarding developments in the regional situation, Gargash said that the tensions and military preparations the region is witnessing, including those related to Iran, were expected in light of the complex regional environment, stressing that the Gulf’s response to these changes is characterized by realism and political responsibility. He added that the UAE’s relationship with Iran is an extended relationship by virtue of geographical and historical neighbourhood, which requires a constant effort to manage differences wisely and avoid clashes that do not serve the security of the region or the interests of its people.

Clear position
He pointed out that the GCC countries have adopted a clear position based on giving priority to calm and rejecting escalation, explaining that the member states have collectively declared not to allow the use of their lands or facilities in any military actions, in a message that reflects the Gulf’s keenness to neutralize the region from the scourge of war and protect the gains of development and stability.

Dialogue and coordination
Gargash stressed that dialogue, coordination and teamwork have proven effective as basic tools for crisis management, stressing that the stability of the region is a shared responsibility that requires collective awareness and balance between the joint decision and the sovereign considerations of each country.

Bridges and partnerships
He stressed that the UAE will continue its role calling for building bridges and strengthening regional partnerships based on mutual interests, respect for sovereignty, and supporting security and stability in the region.
