Kuwait is guest of honor "DIHAD 2026"

DUBAI, 29 JANUARY / WAM / The Dubai International Relief and Development Exhibition and Conference, DIHAD 2026, announced that the sister State of Kuwait has been chosen as the guest of honor for its 22nd session, which will be held from May 5 to 7 next at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
This comes in compliance with the national initiative aimed at strengthening fraternal relations between the Emirates and Kuwait under the slogan “The Emirates and Kuwait: Brotherhood Forever,” which reflects the depth of historical ties and common human values that unite the two brotherly countries, and in conjunction with the national celebrations of Emirati-Kuwaiti relations, taking place in the various emirates of the country.
The 22nd session of DIHAD will be held this year under the slogan “Humanity in Transition: Shaping the Future of Humanitarian Work,” emphasizing the pivotal role played by DIHAD in anticipating the future of humanitarian work, keeping pace with global transformations, and promoting innovation in humanitarian response and sustainable development.
For more than two decades, the DIHAD exhibition and conference has formed an influential international platform that has contributed to transforming humanitarian challenges into opportunities, strengthening global partnerships, and inspiring a new generation of humanitarian leaders, bringing together under its umbrella international organizations, government bodies, the private sector, decision-makers and experts from around the world.
Choosing the State of Kuwait as the guest of honor for this session confirms its leading humanitarian status and its influential contributions in the fields of relief and charitable work, in addition to the shared humanitarian vision and firm commitment to serving humanity and supporting humanitarian issues at the global level. It also reflects the historical connection between the two countries and their shared humanitarian values, in addition to the continuous efforts and long cooperation in the field of relief, development and charitable initiatives at the regional and international levels, which enhances their role as a strategic partner in supporting communities and needy people around the world.
This year’s DIHAD exhibition and conference session focuses on the drivers of change in humanitarian work, ways to adapt to current challenges, enhance leadership skills, and redesign work methods, to ensure a strong and effective future for humanitarian work in the coming years.
The exhibition and conference bring together an elite group of partners from various entities, including governmental bodies, international and non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, media outlets, and private sector companies, with the aim of enhancing cooperation, supporting the innovation of solutions, and shaping a more effective and comprehensive human future.
His Excellency Ambassador Professor Abdul Salam Al-Madani, Chairman of the Sustainable DIHAD Organization and Chairman of DISAP, Ambassador of the Mediterranean Parliament to the Gulf Cooperation Council region, stressed that Kuwait’s participation as a guest of honor in DIHAD 2026 reflects the depth of brotherhood and shared history between the two countries, and will contribute directly to strengthening humanitarian dialogue, pointing out that solidarity is the essence of humanitarian work, as Kuwait’s participation as a guest of honor clearly embodies this value, and contributes to enhancing humanitarian dialogue and exchanging experiences between Emirati, Kuwaiti and international competencies.
He added: “DIHAD is not just an event, but a platform that turns ideas into actions, and brings together leaders, practitioners and experts to build strategic partnerships, promote innovation, and provide practical solutions to complex humanitarian challenges. Kuwait’s participation highlights its pioneering humanitarian legacy and its distinguished experiences in relief and charitable work, confirming a shared vision with the UAE in serving humanity, supporting humanitarian issues globally, and inspiring future generations to build a more hopeful future.”
The “DIHAD 2026” session brings together local and international humanitarian organizations, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, donors, the private sector, and humanitarian leaders, with the aim of discussing major humanitarian challenges and exploring innovative and sustainable solutions in the fields of relief and development, with a focus on innovation, humanitarian technology, and enhancing the capabilities of target communities.
“DIHAD” is organized annually by INDEX Conference and Exhibition Organisation, a member of INDEX Holding, with the support of the Emirates International Aid Agency, the United Nations, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, the Dubai Future Council for Humanitarian Work, the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, Dubai Humanitarian Authority, and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable and Humanitarian Establishment, which enhances its international standing and confirms its importance. The strategy is on the map of global humanitarian action.
