In another context, Ahmed Helmy is waiting for Tunisian star Hend Sabry to finish filming her scenes in the series “Manna,” which will bring him back to Ramadan drama after an absence of four years. To resume filming the film “The Weakest of His Creatures,” which brings them together, and is expected to be shown as part of the films of the blessed Eid al-Adha season, next May. The film constitutes the first artistic meeting between the Egyptian star and the Tunisian star.
During the film, Ahmed Helmy embodies the role of a zoologist in an unconventional cinematic framework, betting on providing a new experience to his audience. The film’s story revolves around an animal scientist who works in a zoo that suffers from dilapidated cages and neglected animals. The hero adheres to his integrity and moral principles. To preserve the dignity of the creatures he swore to care for, at a time when the pressures on his family life were increasing, with dire financial circumstances, and a new pregnancy that further complicated the scene inside his home.
The drama escalates; When a zoologist finds himself facing a critical moral test, after a tempting offer from a wealthy visitor; To dispose of a number of animals classified as “superfluous,” which puts him in a conflict between his conscience and what his family needs to survive. In light of this conflict, feelings of fear, hope, and sacrifice are intertwined, so that the film symbolically reflects the human journey in his search for justice, freedom, and dignity, just as the animals he tries to protect.

Hend Sabry embodies a central character in the film’s story, as she plays the role of a wife who faces with her husband the stressful crises of daily life, and at the same time tries to maintain family cohesion, amid a stressful economic and psychological reality. In her performance, Sabri highlights the struggle of motherhood between fear for the future and belief in her ability to face what is coming.
