Abdullah bin Zayed receives a phone call from the US Secretary of State
Abu Dhabi, 30 January / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a phone call from His Excellency Marco Rubio, Secretary of State of the United States of America, during which the established strategic relations between the two countries were discussed, in addition to all regional developments.
His Highness discussed with the US Secretary of State the current situation in the Gaza Strip, the importance of supporting the goals of the Peace Council, implementing the plan of His Excellency US President Donald Trump in all its entitlements and stages, and working to enhance the humanitarian response to the needs of civilians in Gaza and alleviate their suffering.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed the UAE’s commitment to working with the friendly United States of America, and various regional and international parties, in order to consolidate lasting peace and stability in the region, and to ensure a decent life and development opportunities for its people.
During the phone call with His Excellency Marco Rubio, His Highness also touched on the tragic developments of the civil war in Sudan, the importance of reaching an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, and the transition to an independent civilian government that is not subject to the control of the warring parties.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Marco Rubio discussed a number of topics of common interest related to the strategic relations between the two countries.
