The Mohammed Bin Khaled Association for Future Generations organizes cultural and reading events coinciding with the Year of the Family


Al Ain, February 2, 2017 (WAM) – The Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Association for Future Generations organized a series of cultural and reading events, in conjunction with the Year of the Family 2026, as part of its keenness to support the vision and strategy of the United Arab Emirates aimed at building a cohesive knowledge society and promoting the culture of reading as an essential pillar of sound upbringing and a main gateway to awareness and creativity.
The activities being organized under the directives of Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions, aim to establish reading as a daily habit among children, young people and members of society, and to enhance the role of the family and educational institutions in instilling a love of knowledge, in line with the country’s aspirations towards investing in people and building conscious and educated generations.
The activities included visits to the smart mobile library to a number of government schools, with the aim of spreading the culture of reading among students and motivating them to interact with books in innovative ways, which included Al-Raffa School, Al-Raqia School, Shamma Bint Muhammad School (Episode 1), Mohammed Bin Khalid School (Episode 2), Ain Al-Fadiya Partnerships, Al-Nakhil Kindergarten, Al-Sawsan Kindergarten, Sultan Bin Zayed School (Episode 2), and Al-Salamat School, amid positive interaction from students and educational bodies.
While the Society, as part of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Reading Programme, received members of the Future Generations Library periodically every Sunday of every week and presented them with a variety of interactive activities, which included reading stories, educational and development workshops, and activities that promote creative thinking and curiosity.
In the same context, the Association received a Japanese delegation who took an introductory tour of the library halls, during which they were briefed on the cultural and knowledge programs offered, which reflects the civilizational dimension and cultural exchange that the Association is keen on.
Within the framework of implementing the Al-Waraqeen – Tourism Association programme, the Association organized a cultural lecture entitled “Museums in the Emirates” presented by Engineer Rashad Muhammad Bukhash, President of the Urban Heritage Association, in the presence of Sheikh Salem bin Rakkad Al Ameri and a number of senior citizens from the Family Development Foundation, at the headquarters of Abu Dhabi University.
