Emirates Airlines will soon allow payment with Bitcoin

In the coming weeks, Emirates Airlines is preparing to launch the Bitcoin payment option within its digital system, as part of the multiple payment options available to travelers.
Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Operations at Emirates Airlines, Adnan Kazim, confirmed that the company is currently working on the legal and technical side with the Crypto.com platform, and that the practical application of the service will be announced soon in the coming weeks.
Kazim told “Emirates Today” that payment in Bitcoin will focus on booking tickets and accompanying services such as upgrading seats and bags and other services through the carrier’s website, explaining that this step comes within the company’s policy to provide more flexibility and options to its customers.
He added: “We currently have about 7 payment options, and Bitcoin will be part of these options. We are keeping pace with the process of change and seeking to provide innovative solutions that are in line with Dubai’s vision to be at the forefront of financial innovation in the world.”
This initiative comes after Emirates Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding with Crypto.com last year, exploring ways to integrate the service into the carrier’s payment systems. This step is part of the carrier’s strategy to expand payment options.
