The finalists for the quarter-finals of the Mubadala Tennis Championship have been completed

ABU DHABI, 4th February, 2018 (WAM) – Today, the contract for the players who qualified for the quarter-finals of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open Women’s Tennis Championship, “500 points” category, which is currently being held at the International Tennis Complex in Zayed Sports City, was completed with the participation of the elite ranked players.
The tournament, which continues until February 7, witnessed the withdrawal of defending champion Belinda Bencic due to a sudden health problem that she suffered before today’s round of 16 match against Britain’s Sonay Kartal, who faced off against Mexican Renata Zarazua, and won over her in two sets, 6-0 and 6-3.
Czech Sarah Bajlik qualified after defeating Latvia’s Jelena Osta-Pekko in two sets, 6-4, 6-4. In the quarter-finals, Bajlik will face Britain’s Sonai Kartal.
Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova also reached the quarter-finals after defeating Ukrainian Dayana Yastrimska 6-3, 6-0.
In the next round, Alexandrova will face the Filipino Alexandra Aila, who qualified after defeating the Belarusian Alexandra Sasnovich in two sets, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6.
The quarter-final matches of the tournament will be held tomorrow.
