In the presence of Salem bin Sultan, the Al Khair Award for Volunteer Work honors 110 volunteers in its tenth session

Sharjah, 8 February / WAM / The Al Khair Award for Volunteer Work, in its tenth session, yesterday evening, honored 110 male and female volunteers, at a ceremony organized by the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club, attended by Sheikh Engineer Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, and Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Firas Aziz bin Darwish, Vice President of the Al Khair Award for Voluntary Work, a number of officials, community figures, media figures, and a large gathering of those interested in volunteer work.
This session coincided with the Year of the Family in the UAE, to emphasize the pivotal role of the family in instilling a culture of volunteerism and promoting social responsibility. The volunteer families who provided inspiring examples of teamwork and community service were honored, and contributed with their joint efforts to consolidating the values of cooperation and solidarity among members of society.
Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, accompanied by His Excellency Firas Aziz bin Darwish, handed over certificates of appreciation to the honorees, praising the great role played by volunteer families in supporting the process of community development, and stressing that the family was and remains an essential nucleus in building the human being and enhancing the spirit of giving.
He explained that allocating this session to celebrate volunteer families reflects the award’s belief that volunteer work is not limited to individuals only, but extends to include the family as an integrated unit capable of making a positive and sustainable impact on society, pointing out that male and female volunteers, individuals and families, are the beating heart of society and true models of inspiration.
For his part, His Excellency Firas Aziz bin Darwish said that the Year of the Family represented an ideal opportunity to highlight family volunteer initiatives and their role in raising generations aware of the value of humanitarian work and serving others.
He stressed that volunteer work is one of the pillars of the UAE’s national identity, and that the wise leadership continues its unlimited support for charitable and humanitarian work initiatives, stressing the award’s commitment to appreciating every sincere effort that contributes to promoting these noble values.
