"Judo" He raises his tally to two medals at the end of his participation in Paris"Grand slam"

Paris, 9 February / WAM / Our national judo team concluded its participation in the Paris Grand Slam Championship, winning the silver medal yesterday, after the gold medal of player Muhammad Yazbek at the opening of the competition.

Eliza Letev won silver in the under-78 kg weight, bringing our team to first place in the Arab world and fifth in the overall standings of the tournament with two medals, in addition to obtaining a number of qualifying points for the next Olympics.

In the qualifying round, the player, Letaev, beat British Emma Reid, seeded fifth, then Cuban Cardona Lianet, and Frenchwoman Audrey Chiumio. She also won in the semi-finals against first seed German Olek Anna Monta, reaching the final round against Italian Alice Bellandi.

His Excellency Mohammed bin Thaloub Al Darei, President of the Emirates Judo Federation, confirmed that the distinguished results of our national team in the Paris “Grand Slam” are a strong motivation for male and female players before participating in the Tashkent “Grand Slam” tournament, which will be held during the period from February 27 to the first of next March.
