After much speculation about Egyptian director Mohamed Sami entering the field of acting, and several statements, reports and agreements, the media reported about the appearance of the famous Egyptian director as an actor in the 2026 Ramadan drama season, which ended late last year with the announcement of the postponement of work on all the projects that had been talked about. The director, Mohamed Sami, surprised the audience by announcing the start of filming for the series “Qalb Shams”, which brings him together with the great Egyptian star Yousra, but the work will not see the light of day in the Ramadan drama. 2026; Due to time constraints, it will be shown outside the Ramadan season.

Sami published pictures from the scenes of the series “Qalb Shams”, on his official pages on social networking sites, and commented on the pictures, expressing his pride in the launch of his new dramatic project “Qalb Shams”, which represents a milestone in his artistic career. During which he experiences acting for the first time; Standing in front of an exceptional artistic stature, the size of a big star Yusra. He stressed that the work presents a romantic social drama that befits the Arab family and meets its aspirations. He pointed out that the work includes a group of the brightest stars, including: Dora, Inji Al-Mokaddam, Sawsan Badr, Mahmoud Kabil, Intisar, Basant Shawqi, Edward, Menna Fadali, Ahmed Wafik, Amr Wahba, and Nour Ihab, with the participation of the distinguished artist Ashraf Zaki, and a group of young talents. The audience was promised an intense visual and human experience, combining romance and societal issues.

The series “Qalb Shams” is currently being filmed in several filming locations in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, starting from the “Maadi neighborhood”, which is witnessing the filming of the first interior scenes for the two heroes of the work: Yousra and Mohamed Sami, before moving to the “Fifth Settlement” and the “New Administrative Capital”, then to a new filming location on the Alexandria Desert Road. Sami did not decide whether the series “Qalb Shams” was the same series, which he had finished writing under the title “Reply My College,” or whether it was another dramatic work.
Last October, director Mohamed Sami announced his intention to appear in the 2026 Ramadan drama season, as an actor and not as a director, in a series titled “8 Shots,” written and starring him, and that he began consulting with several production bodies to produce the series and choose a director for it. A group of artists were also scheduled to star in the series, including: Nour Al-Ghandour, Fathi Abdel-Wahab, Mirna Nour El-Din, and Inji Al-Moqaddam. The work is produced by “Eagle Films – Jamal Sinan”, in cooperation with the “Yango Play” platform.
