"Abu Dhabi Poetry Festival" Its activities begin with various seminars and dialogue sessions


ABU DHABI, 9 February / WAM / The first day of the second session of the “Abu Dhabi Poetry Festival”, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority at the ADNEC Center Abu Dhabi, witnessed a program full of seminars and dialogue sessions that brought together an elite group of poets, researchers and those interested in Arabic poetry, within the framework of a cultural demonstration that seeks to consolidate the status of poetry as an integral part of the Emirati and Arab cultural identity, and its activities will continue until February 11 of this year. Organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority.
Obaid bin Qathlan Al Mazrouei, director of the festival, confirmed that the festival aims to provide a cultural platform that brings together creators, researchers, and the public around poetry as the memory of society and the voice of its culture. He pointed out that the seminars and dialogue sessions contribute to opening new horizons for dialogue about poetry, its history, its transformations, and its role in contemporary life, and enhance communication between different generations of creators and those interested in poetry.
The morning activities began with a “Corner for Senior Citizens” session, organized by the Family Development Foundation in the Poetry Council, and discussed the presence of poetry in societal memory and its role in transmitting human experiences and cultural values across generations.
The program continued with the symposium “Poetic Transformations in the Gulf Song,” which was held on the poetic stage, and discussed the relationship between poetry and singing in the Gulf region, and the artistic transformations witnessed by the Gulf song in its poetic formulation and contents.
The Poetry Council also hosted a session presenting research projects for postgraduate students, which was organized by Mohammed bin Zayed University for the Humanities, in which a number of student researchers participated. It focused on the academic dimension of poetic studies and contributed to highlighting scientific research efforts in the field of literature and poetry.
The Abu Dhabi Poetry Festival will continue its cultural and poetic activities over a period of three days, presenting a diverse program of seminars, poetry evenings and cultural activities that reflect the status of poetry in the Emirati and Arab cultural scene.
