المملكة: Wednesday.. "Scouts" Launches a national environmental protection program in Riyadh


Saudi Arabian Scouts Association, next Wednesday, February 11, the Scouting Program for Environmental Protection, in King Salman Wild Park in Benban, north of The city of Riyadh, in a step aimed at transforming environmental awareness into sustainable field practice with the participation of young people.

The launch of the program comes within the association’s efforts to promote the culture of environmental conservation, and highlight the role of the Scouting movement in contributing to environmental issues, in line with the objectives of Sustainable development, and is integrated with the Saudi Green and Green Initiatives"Green Middle East"aiming to increase vegetation cover, reduce carbon emissions, and combat pollution and land degradation.

Positive Behaviors

The Secretary-General of the Association, Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Ibrahim Al-Mudayres, explained that the program embodies the national role of Scouting in serving the environment, by establishing positive behaviors and enhancing social responsibility among young people, stressing that the initiative seeks to make a tangible impact through applied field activities implemented in partnership with government and community agencies."Dr.

He pointed out that the program is being implemented in cooperation with a number of relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the Riyadh Municipality, the National Center for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification, the Ministry of Education, and the General Corporation for Technical and Vocational Training.

He indicated that the outcomes of the launch program include planting seedlings and dispersing seeds in the targeted sites, in addition to implementing awareness programs that contribute to raising the level of environmental awareness in society, and promoting the preservation and protection of natural resources, including It achieves a sustainable impact that serves the nation and humanity.
