Closing of the 20th edition of the Sharjah Nabati Poetry Festival
Sharjah, February 10 / WAM / The twentieth session of the Sharjah Nabati Poetry Festival was concluded yesterday evening at the Cultural Center in the city of Kalba in Sharjah, in the presence of Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler in Kalba, and Butti Al Madloum, Director of the Festival, along with a number of male and female poets.
The evening, which witnessed a distinguished attendance, included poems about the homeland, wisdom, advice, the art of keeping up, reproach, description of nature, and nostalgia.
The poetry readings during the evening sang of love for Sharjah and praise for its cultural presence, the foundations of which were laid by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in addition to patriotic, emotional and sentimental poems.
At the end of the evening, Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Butti Al Madloum honored the participating poets.
