المملكة: Accompanied by the Minister of Culture, the British Crown Prince visits historical sites in Al-Ula

His Royal Highness visited , Prince of Wales of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, a number of historical, natural and cultural sites in Al-Ula Governorate, accompanied by His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Governor of the Royal Commission for the Governorate
The visit reflects the depth of the Saudi-British partnership, and the development it is witnessing in the fields of cultural and artistic cooperation, environmental sustainability, and human capacity development, in a way that supports the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and enhances AlUla’s position as a global platform for cultural dialogue and sustainable development.
Bilateral Cooperation
The visit confirms the depth of bilateral cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries. In order to enhance partnership paths in the fields of culture, arts, environmental sustainability, and human capacity development, in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
During his visit to Al-Ula, the British Crown Prince was briefed on a number of environmental initiatives in the Sharaan Natural Reserve, and efforts for environmental restoration and protection of biodiversity, including initiatives to rehabilitate natural habitats and restore environmental balance, and the Authority’s efforts to resettle the Arabian oryx, mountain goats, and other predators; Contributing to reaching the goal of restoring the Arabian leopard in its natural habitat.
Cultural Communication
He listened to an explanation about the history of the old city and the incense route, and the role of culture and arts as a platform for cultural exchange between the two countries, in a way that strengthens the bonds of cultural and knowledge communication.
Then His Highness viewed the works of art at the AlUla Arts Festival 2026, as part of this visit that embodies the two countries’ interest in strengthening exchange paths. Cultural and supporting joint initiatives in a way that contributes to building bridges of sustainable cultural communication.
Joint cultural initiatives
His Highness met a number of young Saudis participating in joint cultural programs and initiatives between the two countries. Emphasizing the importance of investing in people and supporting the energies of the new generation, the visit included a tour of the AlUla Cultural Oasis.
The visit highlighted the strategic importance of the existing partnership between the Royal Commission for AlUla Governorate and British cultural institutions, within an organized cooperation framework that includes cultural, educational and environmental institutions, which contributes to supporting the path of balanced and sustainable development of AlUla Governorate, and enhancing its presence as a global destination for heritage, culture and nature.
