المملكة: Al-Sawaha: The Kingdom strengthens its global position with artificial intelligence with the support of the Crown Prince


confirmand Information Technology Abdullah bin Amer The Kingdom, with the support and directives of His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect him – is moving rapidly towards consolidating its position as a global center in the era of , by investing in computing, capital, and enabling customers to expand from the Kingdom to the world.

He explained, during his participation in a dialogue session held within the Microsoft AI Tour in Riyadh 2026, that the Kingdom’s record in the digital age reflects its ability to transform visions into achievements.

Digital Economy

He indicated that the capacity of data centers increased from less than 80 megawatts to more than 440 megawatts, while the value of the digital economy grew to approximately 140 billion dollars, contributing more than 50% of the growth of the digital economy in the Middle East and North Africa region, with the presence of 8 billion-dollar emerging technology companies to date.

He pointed out that the focus is on developing National capabilities constituted a strategic turning point. The volume of technical competencies increased from 150,000 to more than 406,000 specialists, making the Kingdom one of the largest technical clusters in the region, and enhancing its readiness to lead the smart age.

Artificial Intelligence

He explained that leading the artificial intelligence race requires three main elements: computing, capital, and customers, stressing that the Kingdom provides these capabilities to enable partners to expand globally.

He stated that the Kingdom has worked to bridge three major gaps globally: the computing gap by providing reliable energy sources to support Data centers, the algorithm gap by developing advanced Arabic linguistic models that serve more than 400 million Arabic speakers, and the data gap by enhancing integration between training and application to ensure accuracy and reliability in vital sectors.

He concluded by emphasizing that the Kingdom, in partnership with major international technology companies, is continuing to build an integrated system that leads the growth of the smart economy, and consolidates its role as a global platform for innovating and expanding artificial intelligence solutions.
