Yamamoto revealed. The number of Japanese companies pumping direct investments into the Kingdom rose to 118 companies, explaining that 18 of them chose Saudi Arabia as a major regional headquarters to manage their business.
The consul estimated the total Japanese direct investments at about 23.6 billion riyals, noting their concentration in specific sectors that include petrochemicals, energy, water, the automobile industry, and electronic technologies.
The Japanese diplomat stressed that the “Saudi-Japanese Vision 2030” represents the basic pillar. For this cooperation, he appreciated the role of the joint bodies in overcoming obstacles and supporting the flow of investments between the two countries.
Growing cooperation
In his speech, he touched on the diplomatic aspect, confirming the entry into force of the agreement on mutual exemption from diplomatic and official visas since last January, which contributes to strengthening official institutional communication.
In the cultural context, Yamamoto praised the great turnout for the “Matsuri Neighborhood” festival in Jeddah, which attracted 12,000 visitors, usually This is a true indication of the growing popular interest in Japanese culture.
During the ceremony, attendees enjoyed a special tasting experience of traditional Japanese cuisine, as the consulate’s chefs served sushi and tempura dishes in an atmosphere that reflected the cultural blend between the two peoples.
The Consul concluded the ceremony by issuing an open invitation to attendees to visit Japan and participate in upcoming global events, such as the 2026 Asian Games and Expo 2027, to deepen the bonds of friendship.
