An initiative to connect senior citizens with technical well-being

In line with the objectives of the Year of the Family, the Community Development Authority – Dubai launched the Digital Balance Initiative – Senior Citizens Path, to enhance the awareness of senior citizens, enable them to use technology confidently and safely, and provide them with the tools and skills necessary to interact positively and safely with the accelerating digital environment.

The initiative comes within the Digital Balance Program in partnership with the Dubai Digital Authority, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, and the Dubai Health Authority, to spread digital awareness, build positive habits within the family, and enhance the empowerment of various segments of society in Dubai. The “Senior Citizens” path was designed to act as a bridge connecting them to the digital world, not only by providing them with technical knowledge, but also by building their solid confidence in benefiting from digital services independently and safely. The program focuses on clear strategic goals, including enabling them to fully benefit from government services and digital health, and educating them about mechanisms to protect against electronic risks and fraud, which reflects positively on their mental and physical health, and enhances the quality of their daily lives.

The initiative represents a practical embodiment of the concept of integration in government work, which places citizens at the top of priorities, and a confirmation that digital transformation in Dubai primarily aims to provide digital luxury and comfort for all segments of society. The program will be implemented through carefully designed training workshops to suit the two categories of senior citizens aged 60 years and above, and retirees aged 55 years and above, in order to ensure the maximum degree of effectiveness.
