A 5.3 magnitude earthquake hits the Philippines… and aftershocks are expected


Hit An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale today, Davao Occidental Province, Philippines.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported that the earthquake occurred 217 kilometers southeast of the municipality of Jose Abad Santos and at a depth of 52 kilometers.

The institute confirmed that despite the possibility of Aftershocks, damage to infrastructure is unlikely.
