“Al-Ameen Service” celebrates 33 “Little Hummies” at Al-Furjan Festival

In a step that reflects its keenness to support emerging national competencies, Al Ameen Service honored – on Sunday, February 15 – 33 children who participated in the “Little Homers” initiative, which was hosted by Mushrif National Park as part of the “Al Furjan Festival” activities, in appreciation of their distinguished efforts in presenting innovative commercial projects that reflect an early awareness of the concepts of entrepreneurship and financial responsibility.
The honor came to culminate the participation of these young people who turned the festival’s halls into a lively platform. Through its support for this initiative, “Al-Ameen Service” aims to enhance children’s self-confidence and develop their social communication skills and financial intelligence, which are basic skills for building a pioneering and independent personality capable of facing the challenges of the future and contributing to the stability of society.
The General Supervisor of the Secretary’s Service, Omar Al Falasi, honored the “Little Homers,” and in his comment on this honor, he stressed that our support for the “Little Homers” initiative stems from a strategic vision that believes that true social security begins with building a self-reliant generation that is aware of the value of work. Watching 33 children experience direct trade and financial dealings in a safe and stimulating environment such as the Al Furjan Festival gives us pride and reassurance about the future of our children, the future of the nation, and the stability and security of society.”
He added: “These field experiences not only teach them about buying and selling, but also instil in them behavioral discipline, good dealings with others, and social responsibility, which is the true immunity that we seek to establish in the minds and behaviors of young people so that they can be active individuals and contributors to the renaissance and security of their country.”
The “Little Homers” competition and initiative is one of the most prominent events organized by the “Al Furjan Festival”, with the aim of instilling a culture of entrepreneurship in children (from 7 to 14 years old). The initiative provides young people with the opportunity to present and market their products and business projects to the public in a safe, competitive environment, which gives them practical experience in financial management, customer service, and marketing skills, and encourages them to innovate and become self-reliant as business leaders for the future.
