Mohammed Al Sharqi witnesses the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Culture, the University of Fujairah and the Fujairah Philharmonic Orchestra
FUJAIRAH, 16 FEBRUARY / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, witnessed, in his office at the Emiri Diwan, the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Culture, the University of Fujairah and the Fujairah Philharmonic Orchestra, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture.
The agreement aims to launch specialized academic and training programs in the fields of music and performing arts, combining theoretical study and practical application in accordance with the best standards.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, His Excellency Dr. Sulaiman Musa Al Jassim, President of the University of Fujairah, and Salem Al Falahi, Director of the Fujairah Philharmonic Orchestra.
His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah stressed the importance of cultural partnerships in strengthening the system of the culture and arts sector in the Emirate of Fujairah, and the integration of roles between governmental, academic and artistic institutions, in a way that contributes to refining national talent, advancing the cultural and musical scene, and consolidating the presence of fine arts in society.
His Highness also noted the support and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, for various cultural and artistic initiatives that contribute to the development of the artistic scene and the creative industries sector in the country, with the aim of strengthening Fujairah’s position as a leading center for creativity and culture at the local and international levels.
For his part, His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, confirmed that the signing of the two cooperation agreements with both the University of Fujairah and the Fujairah Philharmonic Orchestra comes within the framework of consolidating strategic partnerships between the Ministry and academic and creative institutions in the country, which supports the cultural and creative scene, and contributes to its enhancement and sustainability.
His Excellency said: “This cooperation represents an extension of the UAE’s approach to investing in people and culture together, and building educational systems capable of producing knowledge and creativity, especially since these cultural partnerships embody our vision of empowering national energies and developing talents, supporting scientific research in the cultural and creative fields, and providing appropriate training environments to hone cultural and artistic talents.”
He added: “Joint work with Fujairah institutions reflects our belief in the importance of investing in youth, developing their leadership and creative capabilities, and activating dialogue projects between generations to enhance national identity and consolidate the values of belonging, which contributes to building a sustainable cultural system that supports the creative economy and keeps pace with the accelerating transformations globally.”
His Excellency pointed out that the Emirate of Fujairah is a major partner in promoting cultural diversity in the UAE through its great efforts to support the cultural and artistic movement, pointing out that these agreements constitute a qualitative step towards unifying efforts and integrating initiatives in a way that enhances the country’s position as a regional and global center for creativity.
The agreement stipulates cooperation between all parties to launch specialized academic and training programs in music and performing arts, including orchestral performance, music theory and composition, organize joint workshops and concerts, and host national and international musical events, in addition to supporting research and creative initiatives in the fields of music and performing arts. The agreement also focuses on empowering young people through specialized training programs, launching innovative initiatives, and providing practical opportunities for students to participate in orchestral activities and live performances, which contributes to preparing a qualified generation capable of enhancing the cultural and artistic scene, supporting the creative economy, and consolidating the national cultural identity of the Emirate of Fujairah.
The agreement also aims to enhance areas of cooperation and work between its aspects to establish a fruitful strategic partnership that contributes to the development of the cultural and artistic scene in the country, and to build an integrated work system to develop talent and benefit from shared experiences, in a way that enhances the position of the Emirate of Fujairah as a leading center for creativity and the arts.
The signing was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah.
