Despite his loss, Shabab Al-Ahly qualifies for the round of 16 of the AFC Elite Champions League

Jeddah, February 16 / WAM / The Shabab Al-Ahly team qualified for the round of 16 of the AFC Champions League for Elite Football (West Region), despite losing to Al-Ahly Saudi Arabia by a score of 3-4, tonight at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, as part of the matches of the eighth and final round of the league stage of the continental championship.

With this result, Al-Ahly Saudi Arabia raised its score to 17 points in second place, and Shabab Al-Ahly’s score stopped at 11 points in sixth place.

For its part, Al-Wahda, which qualified for the round of 16 before the league stage, ended by losing to Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia 1-2, at the Kingdom Arena.

With this result, Al Hilal raised its score to 22 points in the lead, and Al Wahda’s score stopped at 14 points in fourth place.

Al-Wahda is now in danger of losing fourth place if Al-Ittihad wins over Al-Sadd of Qatar, and a draw or Tractor wins over Al-Gharafa, tomorrow, Tuesday, as if it drops to fifth place, it will play the return match in the round of 16 outside its stadium.

On the other hand, the Sharjah team lost to Nasaf of Uzbekistan 1-2, at Sharjah Stadium. With this result, the Uzbek team raised its score to 4 points, in twelfth and last place, and Sharjah’s score stopped at 8 points in ninth place.

According to the tournament system, the teams ranked first to eighth qualify for the round of 16.
