Saif bin Zayed honors the winners of the Minister of Interior’s Excellence Award in its seventh session

ABU DHABI, 17th February, 2017 (WAM) – Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, honored the winners of the Minister of the Interior’s Excellence Award in its seventh session, during the ceremony held at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, in a scene that reflects the Ministry of Interior’s approach to establishing a culture of institutional excellence, promoting positive competition, and improving the quality of performance and security and community services.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Counselor Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, His Excellency Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, His Excellency Major General Ahmed Saif bin Zaytoun Al Muhairi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, His Excellency Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior, and Major General Salem Ali Mubarak. Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services, the general commanders of the police in the country, members of the Permanent Supreme Committee for Excellence and Leadership in the Ministry of Interior, strategy directors, coordinators of commands and sectors, the administrative team of the award, and a number of guests, officers and employees of the Ministry of Interior and the general leadership of the police in the country.
The ceremony witnessed the honoring of 191 winners from participating individuals and entities, and 3 winners of the Community Service Medal, in 46 categories, including 28 institutional and police categories, 16 functional categories, and two categories in the field of community service, reflecting the comprehensiveness of the award and the diversity of its categories between institutional, individual and community excellence.
Brigadier General Dr. Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director General of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior, confirmed that the Minister of Interior’s Excellence Award represents a strategic platform to stimulate innovation and develop human capabilities, and to consolidate leadership, readiness and sustainability in various areas of police work, in line with the vision of the country’s government, and enhances the UAE’s position as a global model in advanced security work.
Al-Shuaibi explained that the award is based on an integrated system of success factors, most notably the support of senior leadership, clarity of standards and good governance, and the efficiency of the arbitration and evaluation committees, in addition to a rigorous evaluation methodology that combines office and field evaluation, supported by evidence and documents to ensure the reliability and credibility of the results.
He pointed out that the seventh session was characterized by a wide demand for participation and intense evaluation efforts at the state level, as it included 436 files, and 26 evaluators of specialized security experts and competencies from several countries participated, including: the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the State of Australia. It continued for 51 days of field evaluation, and 35 days remotely, during which they carried out 688 visits and audits. On the field, with a total of 1,108.8 evaluation hours, during a period that lasted 6 weeks, within a precise governance system that ensures justice and transparency.
Al-Shuaibi stated that the seventh session witnessed the introduction of new awards to enhance the Ministry’s strategic directions, which included the category of Promising Leaders, People of Determination, and the Police Scholarship at the career level, in addition to the categories of Best Community Initiative and Best Police Practice at the institutional level, with the aim of enhancing innovation and empowering national competencies, stressing the Ministry of Interior’s continued development of the award system and its standards to keep pace with the rapid transformations in government work, enhance the quality of security and community services, and consolidate the country’s position at the forefront of indicators. Global excellence.
The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters won the Leading Entity – Leadership category, in addition to winning a number of sub-awards in the same category, including the best entity in improving quality of life, interconnected proactive services, smart empowerment, data and knowledge management, and partnership and integration.
While the Dubai Police General Command won a number of sub-awards in the category of leading entity – leadership, which are the best entity for future readiness, the best entity for strategic direction and competitiveness, the best entity for main tasks, and the best entity for resources and property.
In the same category, the Sharjah Police General Headquarters also won the award for the best entity in government communication, while the Ajman Police General Command won the award for the best entity in professional talents.
The Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services Sector won the Leading Entity Award – Sectors, and the Assistant Undersecretary for Security Affairs Sector won the Best Entity for Improved Performance award.
At the level of police institutional awards – the Best Comprehensive Police Station Award (Silver Rating), the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters with the Sha’abiya, Madinah and Khalidiya Police Stations received the Silver Rating, the Dubai Police General Headquarters with the Al Qusais and Al Muraqqabat Police Stations received the Silver Rating, the Ajman Police General Headquarters Al Jurf and Al Nuaimiya Police Stations received the Silver Rating, and the Sharjah Police General Headquarters Khor Fakkan Police Station received the Silver Rating, while the City Police Station at the Fujairah Police General Headquarters received the same rating. Classification.
The evaluation also resulted in the Ajman Police General Command winning the best agency in the traffic field, and the Dubai Police General Command winning the award for the best agency in managing penal and correctional institutions, and the best agency in empowering youth, in addition to winning the award for the best joint project with external agencies for the joint operations room project to address money laundering crimes, and the best customer happiness center, which was won by Al Qusais Police Station.
The Abu Dhabi Police General Command won the Best Entity Award in the Security Field, the Security Inspection Award (K9), the Sports Excellence Award, and the Best Police Practice Award for the Communication Center for the Prevention of Financial Crimes, the Best Entity in Clearing Bureaucracy, and the Best Entity in Readiness and Preparedness, while Ras Al Khaimah Police won the Best Pioneering Development Project Award for the “Security Dome” project.
In terms of community awards, the following winners were: His Excellency Khalaf Ahmed Al Habtoor, candidate for the Dubai Police General Command, Hassan Saeed Al Saghiri, candidate for the Fujairah Police General Command, and A. Khadija Mohammed Al-Ajel, nominated for the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police, in the community service category, while Dubai Police won the Best Community Initiative award for the “Positive Spirit” initiative.
In the leadership category, Brigadier General Abdulaziz Abdullah Al-Ahmad won from the Assistant Undersecretary for Security Affairs sector, and in the supervisory category, Brigadier Abdullah Faisal Al-Dosari from the Dubai Police General Command won, and in the promising leadership category, Captain/M. Majid Ali Al Qasim from the Dubai Police General Command, and in the youth category for officers, Captain Sultan Muhammad Al Nuaimi from the Ajman Police General Command won, and the civilian Amani Saeed Al Marzouqi from the Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services sector won in the youth category for officers, individuals and civilians.
As for the specialized category for officers, Major Saad Ahmed Al Marzouqi from the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters won, and Undersecretary Mohammed Naji Mohammed from the Dubai Police General Headquarters won in the specialized category for officers, individuals and civilians, and Assistant Fatima Rashid bin Zayed from the Ajman Police General Headquarters won in the customer happiness category, and senior expert Dr. Ibtisam Abdul Rahman Al Abdouli from the Dubai Police General Headquarters in the Innovator category.
In the government communications category, Lieutenant Colonel Noura Sultan Al Shamsi from the Ajman Police General Command won, and in the field category for officers, Captain Mohammed Faisal Al Shehhi from the Abu Dhabi Police General Command won, while Chief Assistant Salem Yaqoot Al Nuaimi from the Ajman Police General Command won in the field category for officers, individuals and civilians.
At the scholarship level, the winners in the Police Scholarship category were: Major Abdullah Muhammad Al Bastaki (Ph.D.), and Lieutenant M. Saif Adel Al Falasi (Master’s) from the Dubai Police General Command, and Abdullah Salem Al Shamsi from the Ministry of Interior (Bachelor’s).
The Ideal Family category saw Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Ali Al Zarouni from the Dubai Police General Command, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Fatima Obaid Al Shamsi from the Ajman Police General Command, and Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Fayza Fawzi Muhammad from the Police College.
In terms of career awards for the innovative idea category (institutional and individual), the Abu Dhabi Police General Command won for the “Dangerous Driver System” project, Colonel Salem Khalifa Al-Darai also won for the “Crime Scene Automation and Digitization” project, and the Dubai Police General Command won for the “Ghayath Patrols” project.
In the People of Determination category, civilian Badr Abbas Al Hosani from the Sharjah Police General Command, civilian Aisha Hassan Sharif from the Dubai Police General Command, and civilian Muslim Salem Al Qubaisi from the Abu Dhabi Police General Command won the award.
