"Cyber security" Announces the thwarting of systematic cyber attacks of a terrorist nature that targeted vital sectors in the country

Abu Dhabi, February 21 / WAM / The Cyber Security Council announced the success of the national cyber system in thwarting systematic cyber attacks of a terrorist nature, targeting the digital infrastructure and vital sectors in the country, in an attempt to destabilize and disrupt basic services.
In this context, the Cybersecurity Council affirms that the safety of individuals, the protection of personal data, and the continuity of vital services represent a top priority, and that the national cyber security and defense system works around the clock with high efficiency, in cooperation with service providers, national and international bodies, and competent organizations, in addition to benefiting from advanced international technical partnerships and expertise, with the aim of enhancing protection, accelerating recovery, and raising the level of national digital resilience.
The Cyber Security Council indicated that the nature of the attacks included attempts to penetrate networks and spread ransomware, in addition to systematic electronic phishing operations that targeted national platforms, in addition to exploiting artificial intelligence techniques to develop complex attack tools, which reflects a qualitative development in the methods of terrorist groups and their ability to employ modern technologies in carrying out their digital attacks.
The Cybersecurity Council affirmed its full commitment to protecting the digital space, maintaining stability, and rejecting the targeting of vital infrastructure and civil services. It also urges everyone to report any cyber threats or suspicious attempts through the approved official channels in a way that guarantees the integrity of the digital state’s security and the continuity of its institutions in various circumstances and times.
