Suhail Al Mazrouei: Government work and investment in human capital are a main focus of the vision "We are the UAE 2031"

Dubai, February 23 / WAM / His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, stressed that developing the government work system and investing in human capital constitute a fundamental axis of the UAE’s vision, and a practical reflection of its strategic directions within the framework of the “We are the Emirates 2031” vision, which aims to build a more efficient and flexible government with the ability to anticipate the future.
This came during a ceremony honoring the winners of the second session of the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Award for Institutional Excellence, which was organized by the Ministry in the Sustainable City in Dubai, in recognition of their distinguished efforts and qualitative contributions to developing government work and improving institutional performance, and to consolidate the Ministry’s approach to spreading a culture of excellence and appreciation of achievement.
His Excellency explained that the award is consistent in its standards and requirements with the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Excellence in Government Performance, in a way that enhances the culture of innovation and institutional excellence, and contributes to creating a real qualitative shift in performance and administrative practices, by applying standards of institutional and functional excellence, supporting continuous improvement processes and raising performance efficiency.
He said that empowering national competencies, promoting a culture of innovation, and stimulating outstanding performance are essential foundations for ensuring the readiness of government agencies and their ability to achieve a sustainable development impact. Institutional excellence is not a temporary goal, but rather a sustainable strategic approach that reflects our vision to build a future based on efficiency and creativity.
He added that the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure works according to a clear strategic vision and implementable future plans, focusing on developing policies and procedures, raising the efficiency of human resources, and adopting innovative solutions, in a way that enhances the quality of government services and supports the competitiveness and leadership of the UAE in the energy, infrastructure and transportation sectors.
His Excellency indicated that the Ministry continues to implement an integrated approach to developing the government work system, focusing on enhancing institutional efficiency, improving the work environment, simplifying procedures, and raising the readiness of functional teams, in order to achieve integration between strategic planning and effective implementation, and enhance the ability to keep pace with changes and anticipate future opportunities.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Salman, Head of Government Performance and Excellence in the UAE Government and General Coordinator of the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program, explained that the culture of excellence is rooted in the UAE government and constitutes a solid approach to government work.
He pointed out that excellence has become part of the country’s institutional identity, and that the new directions of the excellence system require more flexible tools that keep pace with the aspirations of the renewed leadership, with a focus on developing measurement and methodologies based on results and actual impact.
He stressed that the next stage will focus on enhancing integration and partnership between government agencies, which will reflect on the quality of life of society, and consolidate proactive government performance based on measuring impact and enhancing the leadership of the UAE.
