"Emirates Fatwa" It issues a guide to the most important rulings related to the daily practices of the fasting person

Abu Dhabi, February 26 / WAM / The Emirates Shari’a Fatwa Council issued a guide entitled “The most important fatwa questions related to breaking the fast and a statement of their answers for the year 1447 AH – 2026 AD,” as part of its efforts to spread awareness of the rulings on fasting and provide simplified fatwa content that helps members of society perform their worship easily and conveniently.
The issuance of this guide comes as part of the Council’s awareness initiatives during the holy month of Ramadan, and its keenness to control the legal fatwas and facilitate the access of the rulings related to daily practices to the public in a clear visual manner that facilitates access and brings the legal ruling closer to recurring issues during the holy month.
The guide, which is a table, included an explanation of the most prominent medical issues and daily habits that are frequently asked about, explaining what does not break the fast. Such as drawing blood for tests, measuring sugar, using sterilizers, skin patches, eye and ear drops, using perfumes, siwak, asthma sprays, and oxygen, in addition to a number of other therapeutic procedures whose effect does not reach the stomach in terms of nutrition.
The table shows the cases that are considered to break the fast, most notably all types of nutritional supplements and smoking, in accordance with the Sharia controls approved by the Council, and based on jurisprudential roots and taking into account contemporary medical developments, in order to achieve the purposes of Sharia in facilitating and removing hardship from those who are fasting.
The Council confirmed that the issuance of this table comes as an extension of a series of its Ramadan awareness initiatives that aim to enhance the culture of fatwa in society, and to present the fatwa in a modern cognitive format that keeps pace with the means of communication and responds to the needs of the public, calling on members of the community to return to the official channels of the Council to view the details of the rulings and raise their legal inquiries.
