Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi witnesses the activities of the 6th session of the Sharjah Police Excellence Councils

Sharjah, February 26 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Institutional Excellence Award “Tamayoz”, witnessed yesterday evening the activities of the 6th session of the Sharjah Police Excellence Councils, organized by the Sharjah Police General Command, in cooperation with the Institutional Excellence Award “Tamayoz”, under the slogan “Excellence is a Journey, Centered on People”, in the Aljada area.

At the beginning of the session, His Highness and the audience watched a film clip, which reviewed the vision of the Sharjah Police General Command and its mission to establish security and enhance the concept of a safe society, which preserves gains and maintains stability, highlighting the efforts of its cadres in developing security operations and improving performance efficiency, by adopting the latest technologies and smart solutions, most notably artificial intelligence applications, which contributes to enhancing the speed of response and accuracy of procedures, and supports the process of sustainable development in policing.

The dialogue session, which was moderated by Major Ahmed Hamad Al Hammadi from the Sharjah Police General Command, began with a talk by Mohammed Rashid bin Taliah, Head of Government Services in the Government of the United Arab Emirates, in which he discussed the “zero bureaucracy” program and its forms, explaining that clear goals have been set for government agencies based on eliminating unnecessary procedures, reducing service delivery time, and processing double transactions, which contributes to simplifying the customer’s journey and raising the efficiency of government performance.

Bin Taliah touched on the efforts made in this context, through coordination with strategic partners from local government agencies and the private sector, through joint work teams that contributed to the development and implementation of initiatives, in addition to launching awards for eliminating bureaucracy that strengthened the spirit of positive competition between entities. He reviewed the programs that were launched during the past periods to evaluate the centers, improve services, and improve the customer experience, stressing that the new concept is based on considering the customer as a guest who enjoys the best reception and service.

Dr. Khawla Abdul Rahman Al Mulla, former head of the Family Affairs Authority, reviewed family empowerment models, praising the Sharjah model emanating from the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, which places the human being at the core of his priorities and affirms his right to a decent life, as it is the basic pillar of the emirate’s development project. She explained that this trend was reflected in policies and legislation that contributed to raising the standard of living for families and enhancing their stability, and discussed the story of the establishment of the Supreme Council. Family Affairs, which came to frame family and institutional work and serve the goals of comprehensive community development.

Al Mulla touched on the importance of partnerships and integration between different entities, stressing that institutional cooperation is a pivotal element in achieving sustainable results that reflect positively on members of society, explaining that what distinguishes Sharjah’s experience in family empowerment is its reliance on scientific foundations and clear methodological studies, which contributed to the formulation of qualitative initiatives that achieved a tangible impact and positive results at the level of family stability and quality of life.

For his part, Brigadier General Dr. Tariq Jassim Al Midfa, Deputy Director General of the General Administration for Prevention and Community Protection, stressed the importance of enhancing awareness of programs aimed at improving the quality of human life, pointing out that simplifying procedures in government transactions represents one of the main paths to achieving strategic goals. He explained that the Sharjah Police Excellence Program contributed to spreading the culture of institutional excellence and keeping pace with government programs and initiatives, most notably the “Zero Bureaucracy” program, which enhances performance efficiency and raises the level of services provided to customers.

Al Midfa added that development efforts extended externally through cooperation with strategic partners, stressing the importance of integration between programs, accurate measurement of indicators, and access to the best global experiences.

He touched on the design of services based on the needs of customers through service redesign laboratories, and reviewed one of the outcomes of the Sharjah program to improve the customer experience, represented by the “Condolence Service Package,” which aims to facilitate procedures and provide an integrated service that takes into account the circumstances of the beneficiaries and reduces their burdens.

Humaid Hassan Al Shamsi, Director of the Government Development Department at the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, spoke about the Sharjah Program for Improving the Customer Experience, which comes from the vision of the wise leadership aimed at developing and upgrading services by adopting the concept of living the customer experience and closely understanding their needs. He pointed out that the program is based on four main pillars that include strategic direction, designing services, developing plans and initiatives, changing the service and ensuring its quality, which contributes to achieving a qualitative shift in the level of government performance.

He touched on the mechanism of involving customers in designing services, by listening to their comments, holding dialogue sessions, and implementing questionnaires, to redesign services in line with their aspirations, and urging customers to take the initiative and cooperate with government agencies and contribute their opinions and suggestions, because of this role in improving services and reducing requirements and procedures, which reflects positively on them and enhances the quality of their experience.

In turn, Mona Al-Ghawi, General Coordinator of the Institutional Excellence Award “Tamayoz,” addressed the award’s objectives, target groups, and approved evaluation criteria, explaining that the award seeks to establish a culture of institutional excellence and raise the level of performance in various entities. She indicated that the award categories focus on main axes that include governance, enablers, and data governance, in a way that enhances the efficiency and sustainability of institutional work in accordance with best practices.

Al-Ghawi reviewed the tools that supported the award process, most notably the neutral evaluation committee that evaluated institutions and provided them with constructive feedback that represented opportunities for improvement and development, stressing that excellence has become a basic requirement for every entity seeking to improve its performance, with a focus on employee satisfaction as a pivotal factor in achieving institutional success.

She pointed out that these tools contributed to enabling entities to reach an integrated system of excellence, and enhancing their flexibility and ability to adapt to change.

The dialogue session witnessed interventions from the audience, during which they discussed with the speakers a number of topics related to institutional excellence and community empowerment, and ways to enhance the customer experience and improve the quality of government services. They touched on mechanisms for developing institutional performance, enhancing the culture of innovation, and raising the efficiency of cadres in a way that contributes to achieving the goals of the strategic plans, in addition to the importance of reducing procedures and requirements and simplifying the customer’s journey through integration between agencies and employing smart solutions, in order to achieve speed and accuracy in completing transactions.

His Highness the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah honored the speakers in the dialogue session with commemorative shields, in appreciation of their valuable participation and knowledge contributions that enriched the session’s topics. His Highness expressed his appreciation for the rich proposals and interventions they presented that reflected their keenness to develop government work, and wished them success in their efforts aimed at enhancing the customer experience in a way that meets the aspirations of society.

While His Highness received a memorial gift from the Sharjah Police General Command, in appreciation of His Highness’s efforts in supporting the institutional excellence system in government agencies, and in gratitude for honoring the Sharjah Police Excellence Councils in its sixth session.

On the sidelines of the session, His Highness the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah visited the accompanying exhibition and reviewed the most prominent initiatives adopted by the Sharjah Police General Command. He learned about the Digital Security Laboratory initiative, which seeks to enhance digital security capabilities through advanced laboratories, and the Traffic Safety System initiative, which provides innovative solutions to enhance road safety through smart systems for monitoring, analysis, traffic awareness, and making roads safer.

His Highness listened to an explanation about the Sharjah Police Excellence Program and its axes based on building institutional knowledge, building specialized capabilities, developing services and operations, in addition to institutional support and development, excellence and institutional reputation.

The session was attended, alongside His Highness, by Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Chairman of the Oil Department, Sheikh Saud bin Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of the Sharjah Digital Department, Sheikh Faisal bin Ali Al Mualla, Secretary General of the Judicial Council, and a number of senior officials and senior officers of the Sharjah Police General Command.
