In conjunction with the “Year of the Family”.. Shamma bint Muhammad announces the launch of the book “My Mother Taught Me Hamda”

Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions, announced the publication of a new book entitled “My Mother Taught Me Hamda” during the month of next August in conjunction with Emirati Women’s Day, to be a documentation of an educational and societal model that restores respect to the role of women in building value awareness within the family.

This came during the lecture presented by Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan yesterday evening at the House of Mohammed bin Khalifa in Al Ain, under the title “Umm Hamda Council and Raising Awareness,” which was held within the framework of the “Year of the Family 2026” activities within the initiatives of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Center.

Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed stressed during the lecture that family cohesion represents the first line of defense against the imbalances that may affect society, stressing that academic education, no matter how great it is, does not compensate for the absence of value education within the home.

She referred to her mother, Sheikha Hamda bint Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, as an unconventional teacher of values who teaches morals through living and example, indicating that values such as honesty and honesty are not acquired through reading alone, but are rooted when the family lives them in their daily behavior, and that the Emirati home and its councils have remained, throughout the generations, the first incubator for training children in dialogue, social discipline, and respect for others.

Sheikha Dr. Shamma explained that the “Umm Hamda Council” initiative is working to prepare a team of women to transfer these valuable experiences to society through periodic meetings that ensure that the Council remains a lively educational space in which memory intersects with responsibility towards future generations.

The event included interactions and interventions from the audience about the methods of education and discipline in the past, as Sheikha Shamma conveyed her mother’s greetings to the participants, stressing that the mother’s prestige and presence in the past were sufficient for proper guidance.

Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed began the lecture by recalling the personal memory of the House of Mohammed bin Khalifa, stressing that it is not just walls, but a living history that stores the details of childhood and creates the meaning of belonging through simple daily scenes and adherence to the Council’s etiquette.

The event concluded with a call to continue these meetings in the home that embraces memory, to transform values into daily practice that contribute to building a cohesive family awareness and consolidating the spirit of community cohesion.
