The goal of the Water Sports Federation is to raise the teams to the highest levels

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Water Sports Federation, Abdullah Al Wahaibi, confirmed that the next stage will witness the advancement of national teams to higher levels, the provision of a more professional training environment, and the continuation of the development and construction plans that the Federation began during the past years, especially after the success in establishing a large base of swimmers, and preparing national teams capable of competing regionally and internationally.

This came following the elections for the Board of Directors of the Water Sports Federation for the 2024-2028 session, which were held yesterday at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee, in the presence of nine member clubs, so that a quorum was reached for the General Assembly, and the electoral process was completed in all its stages.

The elections resulted in Abdullah Al-Wahaibi winning the presidency of the Council by acclamation, and Sheikha Mohammed Obaid Al-Zaabi won membership in the Council in the women’s category, while Abdullah Mubarak Obaid Al-Zahmi, Mohammed Abdullah Abu Shehab Al-Suwaidi, and Abdul-Wahid Mahmoud Abdullah Ismail were approved as members of the Council in the general category.

Al-Wahaibi told Emirates Today: “We are proud of the confidence that the clubs have renewed, and we consider it a great responsibility that pushes us to work more in the next stage. The past years have witnessed great development in the federation’s programs, and we have built a strong base of swimmers at different ages. We have also prepared national teams that have proven their presence in continental and international championships. We now aim to raise the teams to higher levels, provide a more professional training environment, and strengthen partnerships with clubs and academies.”
