Followed by gunfire…a large explosion shook the Afghan capital
A large explosion in the capital Afghan Kabul today, Friday, hours after the Taliban government announced it had launched a border attack against The explosion was heard around 1:50 am (21:20 GMT) after the sound of at least one fighter plane was heard over the city, followed by successive gunfire.
8 explosions rocked the city
A resident said that up to 8 explosions rocked the city.
He added: "The first two explosions were far from us, but the last explosions were close to us and shook the house, and the sound of fighter planes could be heard after each explosion."
The explosions were followed by successive gunfire in central Kabul until approximately 2:30 am.
Hours earlier, Afghanistan launched a military attack on Pakistan on Thursday, which it justified by responding to bloody air raids that targeted its territory a few days earlier.
