The war with Iran does not aim to establish democracy and will not be a “war without end”

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed on Monday that the war his country is waging with Israel against Iran does not aim to “establish democracy.”

Hegseth said in his first press conference since the outbreak of war, “No more stupid rules of engagement, no state-building swamps, no democratization processes. No politically correct wars. We fight to win, and we do not waste time or lives.”

Hegseth continued, saying that military operations against Iran will not lead to a “war without end,” and that the goal is to destroy Tehran’s missiles, navy, and other security infrastructure.

He added in the press conference at the ministry’s headquarters, “We are directing precise, strong and relentless strikes at them.”
