The Olympic Committee is discussing preparations for participation in "Asian beach" In China

Dubai, 3 March / WAM / The Department of Technical and Sports Affairs at the UAE Olympic Committee held a coordination meeting via video communication technology with a number of sports federations, to discuss preparations for participation in the sixth session of the Asian Beach Games, which will be hosted by the Chinese city of Sanya during the period from 22 to 30 next April.

During the meeting, which was attended by Mohammed bin Darwish, Executive Director of the Committee, Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Director of the Department of Technical and Sports Affairs, and representatives of the relevant federations, the importance of doubling efforts and intensifying preparation programs was emphasized, in order to ensure the state’s honorable appearance in this continental forum.

Ahmed Al-Tayeb reviewed with representatives of the federations the most important details of the tournament, which China is hosting for the second time after the 2012 edition, stressing the importance of continuing the distinguished performance, especially after the UAE’s historic participation in the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, which were held in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.

The meeting discussed the details of the sports included in the program, and the readiness of the sports village in terms of facilities and services and its proximity to competition sites, which provides a suitable environment for athletes in terms of ease of movement and focus on performance.

The competitions are scheduled to be held in four main locations: Yazhou, Haiteng, Tiana, and Jiang, in addition to reviewing the arrival and departure schedules of the participating delegations.

The number of athletes registered in the electronic system for the tournament is 3,798 male and female players, representing 45 National Olympic Committees under the umbrella of the Olympic Council of Asia, to participate in 14 sports that include 15 disciplines and 63 competitive competitions.
