Saudi Arabia affirms the right of response and denounces the Iranian attack on the American embassy in Riyadh

A statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday stated that the Kingdom condemns the Iranian attack that targeted the American embassy in Riyadh and affirmed its right to respond.

The statement said, “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed its rejection and condemnation in the strongest terms of the brutal Iranian attack that targeted the United States Embassy building in the city of Riyadh. It stressed that the repetition of this cowardly and unjustified attack is in flagrant violation of all international norms and laws.”

He added, “The Kingdom reaffirmed its full right to take all necessary measures and measures to protect its security, the safety of its lands, its citizens and residents, and its vital interests, including the option of responding to the aggression.”

Saudi Arabia pointed out again that Iranian attacks on its territory continue “despite the Iranian authorities’ knowledge that the Kingdom has confirmed that it will not allow its airspace and territory to be used to target Iran,” and warned that repeating the attacks “will push the region toward further escalation.”
