Postponing the second leg of the Western Region’s knockout rounds in Asian club competitions

The Asian Football Confederation announced today, Tuesday, the postponement of the second leg of the playoff matches in the Asian club competitions for Western clubs, following the decision issued on March 1.
This decision came due to the current situation in the Middle East.
Accordingly, the AFC website stated that the following matches originally scheduled for March 9-11, 2026 have been postponed until further notice:
AFC Champions League Elite: Round of 16 second leg matches (West Region).
AFC Champions League II and AFC Challenge Cup: Quarter-final, second leg matches featuring clubs from the West Region.
As previously announced, all matches involving clubs from the East region in all Asian club competitions will be held on the originally scheduled date.
The federation stated: “The AFC’s priority remains the safety and security of all parties involved, including players, teams, officials, partners and fans, and we are steadfast in our commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all, with further updates being provided in due course.”
