800 runners from 43 nationalities participate in the running race within "Hafeet Sports Challenge"

Al Ain, March 4 / WAM / The running race, which was organized in Jebel Hafeet and Green Mubazzarah, topped the competitions of the thirteenth day of the “Hafeet Sports Challenge” tournament, with the participation of 800 competitors representing 43 nationalities, in a scene that reflects the broad base of community and international participation in the event.
The former was attended by His Excellency Salem Rashid bin Hudayram Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee, and a number of government agency officials and representatives of the participating and supporting entities of the tournament.
He participated in the race; His Excellency Arif Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Rashid Abdullah, CEO of Al Ain Investment Club and Director of the Hafeet Sports Challenge, which reflects the importance of the event and the keenness of sports leaders to support initiatives that promote the culture of sports and physical activity in society.
The race included three tracks, the first was allocated for a distance of 1 km for beginners, children and families, the second was for a distance of 3 km for the intermediate category for ages 16 to 20 years, while the third, which was a distance of 5 km, was allocated for the advanced and open category.
In the same context, competitions continued in a number of sports tournaments within the challenge, including table tennis, badminton, cricket, archery, fitness challenge, and laser shooting, in addition to competitions for people of determination, which included bowling, goalball, and hexathlon, in a framework that reflects the diversity of the sports program and the breadth of the participation base.
In the shooting competitions, Ali Mubarak Omar Salem Omar won first place in the 9 mm pistol competition (men) with a score of 193 points, and Abdullah Al Naqbi came in second place with the same score, while Abdullah Saleh Abdullah Al Menhali came in third. Nayef Saeed Al Kathiri won first place in the Saktoun rifle competition (men) with 204.5 points, followed by Hamdan Nasser Salem Al Mahrami, in second place with 204.2 points, while Muhammad Salem Saeed Al Qaidi came in third with 203.8 points.
On the other hand, Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium hosted the blitz chess tournament, which witnessed the participation of 196 players from 30 nationalities, in the presence of an elite group of international players and ranked masters.
The young player, Ahmed Mohamed Saeed, 17 years old, expressed his happiness at participating in the tournament, stressing that the strong competition between players from different countries contributes to developing the level of young players and gaining important experiences by facing experienced international players.
In the same context, Indian player Sufyan (10 years old) confirmed that the competition is strong and includes distinguished players, expressing his ambition to achieve advanced results, while player Mahmoud Shayan Noushad Ibrahim expressed his happiness in participating in the tournament.
Wafia Darwish Al Mamari, a player at Al Ain Club and the Emirates Chess Federation, expressed her happiness at participating in the tournament, stressing that the competition witnessed wide participation from players from different countries and levels, which gives players a great opportunity to develop their skills and gain new experiences.
