Türkiye announced that NATO defenses intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Iran before it entered Turkish airspace.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday that NATO air defenses and missile defense systems in the eastern Mediterranean destroyed a ballistic missile launched from Iran heading towards Turkish airspace after it crossed over Syria and Iraq.

The ministry added in a statement that the incident did not result in any deaths or injuries and indicated that Turkey reserves its right to respond to any hostile action against it, but at the same time it calls on the concerned parties to refrain from any steps that would escalate the situation.
