المملكة: Starting tomorrow… heavy thunderstorms and weather fluctuations in most regions of the Kingdom


Most regions of the Kingdom are affected by thunderstorms between Medium to heavy, during the period from tomorrow, Friday, to next Tuesday, corresponding to March 6 to 10, 2026 AD.

Mecca and Medina

The National Center of Meteorology explained that the rainy condition in the Medina region will begin on Friday and Saturday, March 6 and 7, to include Medina, Al-Hanakiyah, Al-Mahd, and Wadi Al-Far’ with intensity ranging from light to moderate.

The report stated that the situation in the region Makkah Al-Mukarramah will include the Holy Capital, Al-Kamil, Al-Jamoum, and Bahra on Friday and Saturday with light to moderate severity, while it will extend to affect Al-Laith and Al-Qunfudhah from Friday to Sunday, March 8.
The center indicated an increase in severity The rainwill become moderate to heavy in Taif, Maysan, Adham, Al Ardiyat, Tarbah, Al Muwayyah, Al Khurma, and Raniya from Friday to Sunday, then later turn to light to moderate on Monday and Tuesday, March 9 and 10.

The rain situation in Al Bahah and Asir

The center pointed out that the Al Bahah region will be affected in Al Bahah, Baljurashi, Al Mandag, Qalwa, Bani Hassan, Al Qura, Al-Makhwah, Al-Hujra, Ghamid Al-Zanad, and Al-Aqiq experienced moderate to heavy rain from Friday to Sunday, with light to moderate rainfall continuing on Monday and Tuesday, March 9 and 10.

In the same context, the center in the Asir region expected rainfall Moderate to heavy rain from Friday to Sunday in Abha, Khamis Mushayt, Ahad Rufaidah, Sarat Ubaida, Al-Harjah, Dhahran Al-Janoub, Al-Namas, Tanumah, Rijal Almaa, Bariq, Mahayil Asir, Al-Majaridah, Belqarn, Bisha, Al-Amawa, Tathleeth, Tarib, and Al-Farsha, with these rains turning to light or moderate on Monday and Tuesday, March 9 and 10.

The Center also reported that the Jazan region will witness moderate to heavy rains in Al-Rayth, Harub, Al-Daer, Al-Eidabi, Fayfa, Al-Ardha, and Al-Harath from Friday to Sunday, then their intensity will decrease to become light to moderate on Monday and Tuesday. In parallel, Jizan, Baysh, Sabya, Damad, Abu Arish, Ahad Al-Masarhah, Samtah, and Al-Tuwal will be affected by moderate rains on Saturday and Sunday, March 7 and 8.

The report stated that the Najran region will witness light to moderate rains, including Najran, Badr al-Janoub, Habouna, Yadma, and Thar, starting from Friday until Monday, March 9.

The center went on to indicate that the governorates The Riyadh region, which includes Afif, Al-Dawadmi, Al-Quwayyah, Al-Rain, Hotat Bani Tamim, Al-Hareeq, Al-Kharj, Wadi Al-Dawasir, Al-Salail, and Al-Aflaj, will be affected by moderate to heavy rain from Friday to Sunday, and will continue with light to moderate intensity on Monday and Tuesday. He added that light to moderate rain will also include Riyadh, the capital, Dalam, Al-Muzahmiya, Dharma, Marat, Shaqra, Al-Ghat, Al-Zulfi, Al-Majma’ah, Thadig, Huraymila, Diriyah, and Rumah, from Friday to Monday, March 9.

Variation of rain and accompanying dust

The report confirmed that the rainy condition in the Hail region will include Hail, Al-Ghazala, Al-Shamli, Al-Jadar, Al-Shannan, Baqaa, Samira, Al-Sulaimi, and Muwaqq on Saturday and Sunday, March 7 and 8, with light to moderate severity. The Qassim region and its governorates, including Buraidah, Unayzah, and Al-Rass, are also affected by light to moderate intensity during Saturday and Sunday.

In the Eastern region, the center indicated that light to moderate rain included Dammam, Jubail, Ras Tanura, Qatif, Al-Khobar, Hafr Al-Batin, Al-Khafji, Abqaiq, Al-Nairiyah, Olaya village, Al-Ahsa, and Al-Udeid on Saturday and Sunday, March 7 and 8. At the same time, the northern border area in Rafha and Al-Uwaiqila will be affected on Saturday, March 7, by light to moderate rain.

The Center noted the phenomena accompanying light rain, which may include descending winds stirring up dust and dust, reaching speeds of up to 50 km/hour. As for cases of moderate and heavy rain, the Center warned that it will be accompanied by downward winds reaching speeds of 60 km/hour or more, with torrential rains, hail, and rising waves on the coasts, in addition to the possibility of the formation of tornadoes or water towers in cases of heavy rain.
