Abdullah bin Zayed discusses by telephone with a number of officials and foreign ministers the latest developments in the regional situation

Abu Dhabi, 7 March / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during telephone calls with a number of officials and foreign ministers of brotherly and friendly countries, discussed the current developments on the regional and international arenas, and the repercussions of the brutal Iranian missile attacks that targeted the UAE and a number of countries in the region.
His Highness held telephone discussions with His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Irfaan Ali, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, His Excellency Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic, His Excellency Ignazio Cassis, Vice-President of the Federal Council and Head of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, His Excellency Jean-Noel Barrow, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, His Excellency Winston Peters, Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, and His Excellency Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The communications discussed the repercussions of these developments on the security and stability of the region, and their possible repercussions on the global economy and the security of energy supplies. The ministers also reviewed the importance of strengthening international coordination and intensifying joint efforts to maintain regional stability.
His Highness and His Excellencies the ministers expressed their strong condemnation of the Iranian missile attacks that targeted the UAE and a number of countries in the region, stressing their rejection of such actions that constitute a clear violation of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and a direct threat to the security and sovereignty of countries.
They stressed the right of countries that have been subjected to these attacks to take measures to protect their sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to maintain the security of their citizens, residents and visitors, in accordance with the provisions of international law.
They also stressed the importance of strengthening collective international action in confronting these challenges, and supporting diplomatic endeavors and serious and responsible dialogue in a way that contributes to consolidating security and stability in the region.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his thanks and appreciation to Their Excellencies the Ministers for their countries’ solidarity and support for the UAE, stressing the safety of all residents and visitors in the country, and reiterating the UAE’s keenness to continue working with its international partners to establish sustainable security and stability in the region, and to meet the aspirations of its people to achieve greater prosperity and prosperity.
