Jana Amr Diab officially enters the singing scene…the first album looming on the horizon of summer 2026

In a step that reflects a confidently rising artistic ambition, Jana Amr Diab announced the official start of work on her first album, in preparation for its release during the summer of 2026, in an experience that is considered the most prominent in her emerging artistic career, so far.

The announcement came through her personal account on the Instagram platform, where she contented herself with a brief message, in which she revealed that she had entered the stage of recording songs, which opened the door to speculation about the nature of the musical project, which she is preparing to present.

This step did not come out of nowhere. Rather, it was preceded by remarkable milestones that put Janna under the spotlight, most notably her appearance in “Dio They Kidnapped Me,” alongside her father, the artist Amr Diab, in the album “Ebtadena.”

The song, which was a surprise to the audience, carried a special character that combined the father’s experience and the presence of his young daughter, quickly turning into one of the most popular and listened to works, and opened the door for Jana to be introduced to a wider audience in the Arab world.

“They Kidnapped Me” highlighted Jana’s vocal talent, as many praised the rawness of her voice and her ability to harmonize with her father’s style, despite the difference in generations and experiences. This collaboration also brought to mind her previous participation in the song “Jamila,” from the album “Sahran,” in which she presented a clip in the English language that received a wide response from the audience.

In the context of building her own artistic identity, Jana released, in February, the song “With You I Ghani,” in which she collaborated with the poet Tamer Hussein and the composer Amr Mostafa. Amr Diab was happy with the work, and shared it on his page at the time, and wrote: “Very proud of you.”

The work was different in terms of combining the Arabic and English languages, an approach that seems to form part of the features of her upcoming album, in an attempt to reach a diverse audience, beyond the traditional boundaries of the Arabic song.

Jana, born in 2001, is Amr Diab’s youngest child from his ex-wife, Zeina Ashour, and she left Cairo at an early age. To complete her education in the United Kingdom. There, she obtained a diploma in singing from Burrington University, and also studied English Literature at Goldsmiths University in London, which gave her an academic background that supported her artistic orientation.

Despite her promising artistic path, Jana did not hide the personal challenges she faced, as in 2021 she revealed that she suffered from “attention deficit hyperactivity disorder,” noting difficulty concentrating and frequent forgetfulness as one of the most prominent symptoms that affects her daily life. This recognition added a human dimension to her image before the public, and strengthened the followers’ sympathy for her.

In terms of digital presence, Jana enjoys a wide following on social media platforms, where hundreds of thousands of followers follow her, which gives her a supportive fan base with every new artistic step. She has also previously released a number of single songs on YouTube. This reflects her continuous endeavor to establish her presence away from her father’s shadow, despite the clear benefit from his artistic legacy.

Her father gave her a song called “Jana,” in the album “Shft Al-Ayam,” when she was thirteen years old. The song, whose lyrics were written by the poet Tamer Hussein, represented a special humanitarian and artistic gesture at the time. It reflected the father’s relationship with his daughter, and represented her first symbolic presence in the world of music, before she later began to take her actual steps towards singing professionally.
