Klopp decides to return to training…his new destination is “unexpected”

Veteran German coach Jurgen Klopp decided to return to the world of coaching again, without his next destination being one of the major European clubs, specifically Real Madrid, as was reported recently.

The German newspaper “Bild” said that the name of Klopp (58 years old) was strongly proposed during the recent period to take over as coach of the German national team after the end of the 2026 World Cup.

Klopp is currently working as global director of football at Red Bull since October 2024, a position he assumed after a long coaching career, most notably the nine years he spent with Liverpool.

During his coaching career, the German coach achieved many achievements, as he won major titles with Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund, including the German League and the English Premier League, in addition to the European Champions League title.

Klopp had decided to step away from coaching at the end of the 2023-2024 season, ending his journey with Liverpool and preferring to move to administrative work within the Red Bull Group.

The German national team is currently led by coach Julian Nagelsmann, with a contract extending until 2028, but reports indicate the possibility of a change after the 2026 World Cup.

This comes in light of the decline in the German team’s results in the last two editions of the World Cup, after it exited the 2018 and 2022 World Cup competitions in the group stage, despite winning the title in the 2014 edition.
