The Dubai Chamber of Commerce discusses with the fruit and vegetable merchants working group the availability of basic goods and the sustainability of the sector

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, discussed ways to enhance the flexibility and competitiveness of the fruit and vegetable trade sector, and ensure the flow of import traffic from various markets by relying on new shipping routes, during a meeting it recently held with the working group of vegetable and fruit merchants operating under the umbrella of the Chamber.
In the presence of Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, the meeting discussed the most prominent requirements of companies operating in the fruit and vegetable trade, and reviewed practical solutions and proposals to diversify sources of supply and enhance the flexibility of supply chains, in a way that supports the stability of local markets, raises the efficiency of commercial operations, and keeps pace with the growth of demand in the emirate..
Representatives of the fruit and vegetable merchants working group pointed out that the readiness and flexibility of the business system in Dubai constitutes an essential pillar in supporting the private sector’s ability to adapt to all changes, stressing the sector’s flexibility in finding alternative solutions to supply chain challenges to ensure the provision of basic goods. They praised the close partnership between the public and private sectors and the government efforts made to support the business community at all stages and circumstances.
