Laporta is president of FC Barcelona until 2031

Joan Laporta retained the position of president of the Spanish club Barcelona, ​​after winning the club’s presidential elections, beating his rival, the Catalan businessman Victor Font, to continue leading the Catalan club until 2031.
Laporta received 68% of the votes of the club members, compared to 30% for his competitor Font, in elections in which more than 48,000 club members entitled to vote participated.

With this result, Laporta begins a new five-year term, making it the fourth in his history as club president, after previous periods during which he led Barcelona between 2003 and 2010, then returned to the position again in 2021 in a difficult financial period for the club.
