The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry dismantles a Hezbollah terrorist group that includes 16 members in possession of suspicious weapons and materials.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced that the competent security services were able, after careful and intensive security monitoring and follow-up operations, to detect and arrest a terrorist group belonging to Hezbollah, aiming to destabilize security in the country and recruit people.

Investigations and security investigations revealed an organized sabotage plan behind which the group’s members were standing, including (14) citizens and (2) of Lebanese nationality, aiming to undermine the country’s sovereignty and destabilize it, and seeking to spread chaos and disrupt public order, which constitutes a direct threat to national security and exposes the safety of citizens and residents and the capabilities of the state to danger.

The Ministry explained that a number of seized items were found in the possession of the terrorist organization, after obtaining the necessary legal permission from the Public Prosecution, which were: (a number of firearms and ammunition – a weapon used for assassinations – Morse coded communications devices – drones – flags and pictures of terrorist organizations – maps, narcotic materials and sums of money – special weapons for training).
