Decrease in rice and flour prices in Saudi Arabia during February 2026


Data from the General Authority for Statistics revealed a noticeable decline in the prices of a group of Basic food commodities in Saudi Arabia during the month of February, as the prices of all types of rice witnessed varying declines, and the prices of local flour and pasta also declined, while the prices of bread stabilized.

Rice prices declined

and according to the Commodity prices For February, the price of Indian white basmati rice (Al Muhaidib), per 10kg bag, decreased by 2.1% to reach SAR 93.7 in February, compared to SAR 95.7 in January. The price of Indian mezza rice (Abu Kas) for a 10 kg bag also decreased by 2.6% to record 78.4 riyals in February, compared to 80.6 riyals in January.

A slight increase in barley and corn

On the other hand, the prices of barley and corn witnessed limited increases, as the price of imported barley for a 50 kg bag increased by 0.5% to reach 67.9 riyals in February, compared to 67.5 riyals in January. The price of sorghum (white) per bag of 40 kg also rose by 2% to record 137.7 riyals in February, compared to 135.0 riyals in January, and the price of millet per bag of 40 kg also rose by 2% to reach 121.6 riyals in February, compared to 119.2 riyals in January.

Local flour and bread

decreased Local flour prices of all types during February, as the price of local brown wheat flour (silos) per 1 kg bag decreased by 0.3% to settle at 3.1 riyals in February, and white local flour (silos) per 2 kg bag decreased by 1.7% to reach 4.6 riyals in February, compared to 4.7 riyals in January. As for flat white bread (4 loaves), it remained stable at 1.1 riyals without any significant change on a monthly basis.

Oats, vermicelli and pasta

With regard to other commodities, the price of oat canned soup (500 g) decreased by 0.6% to reach 9.7 riyals in February, compared to 9.8 riyals in January, and Perfetto vermicelli (250 g) stabilized to record 6 riyals, and local Perfeto pasta (500 g) decreased by 0.5% to reach 6.0 riyals in February, compared to 6.1 riyals in January.
