Sharjah Police seized 60 tons of fireworks

The Sharjah Police General Command was able to arrest people in possession of 60 tons of fireworks. This is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance public security and safety, and to address negative practices that pose a danger to members of society, especially during the period of official events and holidays.

Brigadier General Ibrahim Musabah Al-Ajel – Director General of the General Administration of Comprehensive Police Stations – explained that the seizure operations came after careful follow-up and comprehensive monitoring, and this resulted in identifying the locations of the promoters and arresting them, who were in possession of quantities of fireworks prepared for sale illegally, and the necessary legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the Public Prosecution.

Al-Ajel stressed that the promotion of fireworks and their random use represents a direct threat to public safety. Because of the injuries and accidents it may cause, as well as inconvenience to residents and damage to property.

Sharjah Police called on community members and parents to adhere to the applicable laws and regulations, educate children about the dangers of fireworks, and cooperate and report any violating practices via the number 901 designated for non-emergency cases, stressing the continuation of its awareness and monitoring campaigns to reduce these behaviors.
