Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center receives 3,226,103 guests during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr prayers

During the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr prayers, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center received (3,226,103) guests at the mosques managed and supervised by the Center in various emirates of the country, which include the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in the city of Al Ain, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the Emirate of Fujairah, and the Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi received 1,695,698 guests, including 510,046 worshipers, 205,642 visitors, and 4,862 users of the sports walkway, in addition to 980,010 people breaking the fast, which is the highest number of people breaking the fast in the mosque’s history.

Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in Al Ain received 960,011 guests, including 409,155 worshipers, 550,240 breaking the fast, and 616 users of the sports walkway.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah also received 507,222 guests, including 231,020 worshipers, 265,560 people breaking the fast, and 10,642 visitors, including 8,670 users of the sports walkway. In the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque received 63,172 worshipers during the same period.

His Excellency Dr. Yousef Al Obaidly, Director General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center, confirmed that the “Ramadan Project” is a unique national model that embodies the integration of institutional efforts and the spirit of social responsibility, and reflects the cultural role that the Center plays in consolidating the values ​​of tolerance, coexistence, and community service.

He explained that, as part of its vision to enhance the mosque’s position as a global religious and cultural beacon, the Center is keen to develop an integrated work system concerned with providing quality services to mosque guests according to the highest standards, ensuring their safety and comfort, and elevating their faith experience during the holy month.

He pointed out that the efforts made by volunteers and work teams reflect a high level of commitment and efficiency, and embody the authentic Emirati values ​​of giving, giving, and joint work.

He added that the Center, as it continues to implement its Ramadan programs and initiatives, is based on an institutional approach based on excellence, sustainability and innovation in providing services, in line with the aspirations of the wise leadership, and enhances its mission of spreading tolerant Islamic culture and consolidating noble human values ​​in society.

An elite group of imams from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in Abu Dhabi performed Tarawih and Tahajjud rituals throughout the holy month. Idris Abkar, Yahya Aishan, Alaa Al-Mazjaji, Abdullah Al-Balushi, and Abdul Basit Abdul Samad Al-Mazyad participated in reviving the prayers, and their voices echoed in prayer and supplication in the mosques managed and supervised by the center in the various emirates of the country, and their recitations were published. Tranquility and reverence with the scents of the holy month.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi recorded the highest number in its history within the framework of the “Our Fasting Guests” project, which the Center implements annually in memory of the spirit of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan – may God rest his soul – under the umbrella of the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation and through the Zayed Al Khair Foundation, and in cooperation with the strategic partner, the Erth Hotel – Abu Dhabi. During the holy month, the Center distributed 2,605,810 iftar meals in the mosques it manages. And supervises it.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi also recorded the highest number in its history in distributing breakfast meals, as the number of meals distributed within the mosque reached 980,010 meals, compared to 550,240 meals in the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Grand Mosque in Al Ain, and 265,560 meals in the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah.

The center continued its cultural role in addition to its religious role through a package of specific initiatives. The “Afnan” account was launched on social media platforms to provide religious and cultural content that includes recitations by the imams of the mosque and cultural and religious series produced by the center. It also published special episodes of “Echo of the Mosque” and “Flash of Jurisprudence,” and two episodes of “The Chair of the Mosque” in Ramadan.

The Center had the honor of holding three Ramadan lectures for the Mohammed bin Zayed Council at the Council’s headquarters in the mosque, and the distinguished scholars, guests of His Highness the President of the State, in cooperation with the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, presented 18 lectures in the main prayer hall of the mosque after the Tarawih prayer rituals, which dealt with various topics that raised the awareness of members of society.

On the occasion of “Zayed Humanitarian Work Day,” which falls on Ramadan 19 of each year, and inspired by the values of giving established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, the Center distributed copies of the audio Qur’an to worshipers in the mosques it supervises, which contain recitations in the voice of the Imam of the mosque, Idris Abkar and Yahya Aishan, within the framework of strengthening the community’s connection to the Holy Qur’an during the month of Ramadan. Blessed.

The Center launched the second season of the “Dhai Photography Competition” under the theme “Ramadan in the Mosque,” ​​and continued to organize the “Jusoor” program in its sixth season with the participation of 164 participants from a number of embassies in the country, including the Embassy of Slovenia, the Embassy of Australia, the Embassy of the United States of America and Canada, students from New York University Abu Dhabi, and a number of the Center’s employees, who met together in volunteer fields and at breakfast tables under the umbrella of tolerant Islamic values.

The center provided the opportunity to enjoy the Ramadan atmosphere in the Al-Salam Dome and the mosque’s market, which includes a variety of shops and restaurants, in addition to the outdoor kiosks at the market’s dome, and the Ramadan market (lambah), which included 18 kiosks distributed in the external courtyard of the mosque on its northern and southern sides.

The Center harnessed all its capabilities to shed light on the Ramadan project at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center, where it worked to produce more than 130 media materials, and more than 560 local, regional and international media outlets circulated the Center’s news during the holy month of Ramadan. The mosque was also referred to across various media outlets and social media platforms through more than 1,900 news, photo reports, and publications.

The center also allowed the community to view developments related to all its programmes, services and initiatives throughout the month, including imams’ schedules and daily supplications, via the social media platforms of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi (@szgmc_ae), the Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in Al Ain (@skgmuae), and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque platform in Fujairah (@szgmfuj).
