"Ethical Diamond" Strong filter for "Dubai Shaima Classic"

Dubai, March 25 / WAM / The horse “Ethical Diamond” will undergo an important test in the “Longines Dubai Shaima Classic” race during the Dubai World Cup evening, which is hosted by Meydan Racecourse next Saturday, amid strong nominations for him to compete for the title of the race designated for medium distance running.

Irish trainer Willie Mullins hopes that the six-year-old horse will continue his brilliance, after establishing himself as one of the most prominent horses in this category, especially after his remarkable performance in the Breeders’ Cup Turf race, where he finished the race strong, outperforming an elite group of international horses, in a result that drew attention to the team that includes rising rider Dylan Brown-McMonagle.

This performance represents an extension of a remarkable development in the horse’s career, as he had previously finished fourth in one of the steeplechase races during the Cheltenham Festival last year, before achieving two prominent victories in the “Duke of Edinburgh Stakes” over 2,400 meters at the Royal Ascot Festival, and the “Ebor” race over 2,800 meters in York last August.

In his first participation in Dubai, Mullins confirmed that the horse adapted well to the atmosphere, noting that “he traveled excellently, and we kept the same team that accompanied him in his last participation, and he appears to be in stable physical condition,” adding that he will not undergo much effort during the days before the race.

Mullins is considered one of the most prominent trainers in European steeplechase racing, having won the national title 19 times, winning the title of best trainer in Britain twice, and achieving notable victories in the Grand National and the Cheltenham Festival, in addition to international successes in Japan, the United States and Australia.

Despite his record of achievements, Mullins believes that the participation of “Ethical Diamond” represents a new stage in his career, especially if he is able to outperform world champion “Calandagan” in Saturday’s race.

He concluded by saying that the competition will be strong, as the horse comes in second place in the global market nominations, expressing his hope for a distinguished performance, stressing that finishing the race in the top three will be a satisfactory result.
