China “fully supports” the initiative to host potential US-Iranian talks in Islamabad

Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt discussed on Sunday “possible ways to end the war in the Middle East early and permanently.”

The four countries held joint talks in Islamabad with the aim of reducing the escalation in the US-Iranian war.

Dar added in a video statement that all parties expressed their confidence in Pakistani mediation efforts, and that China “fully supports” the initiative to host potential US-Iranian talks in Islamabad.

He pointed out that his country is continuing its contacts with various parties to support the diplomatic track, stressing that dialogue represents the primary option to end the conflict.

He also noted that he informed his counterparts of possible developments in US-Iranian contacts, as part of efforts aimed at bringing viewpoints closer and creating conditions for dialogue.

This diplomatic move comes at a time when confrontations are escalating between Iran, the United States, and Israel, amid intense regional efforts to prevent the expansion of the war.
